OVERVIEW

During my internship with UAlberta Residence Services, I had the opportunity to design the  2026/2027 Student Staff Residence Hiring Campaign by developing a range of print and digital marketing materials. The project involved creating campaign assets across multiple platforms, including posters, postcards, digital signage, website carousels, and social media graphics.

I was responsible for the visual design process from concept development to final production, including preparing photography, designing layouts, selecting typography, and adapting campaign messaging across different formats and platforms.

THE PROBLEM

We wanted to focus on highlighting the personal experiences of current Residence Services staff by showcasing the people behind the roles.

The campaign aimed to create a stronger connection with prospective applicants. This approach helped make the opportunity feel more personal and relatable, allowing students to better understand the experience of working in residence.

CONLUSION

Working on this campaign from photography through final design gave me a better understanding of the time, planning, and consistency required to create a successful visual system. One of my biggest takeaways was learning that campaign design is not about creating individual pieces that work on their own, but developing a flexible system that can adapt across different platforms while maintaining a consistent identity.
